About The Team Community Connection, Personal Commitment
Our patient navigators help people find their way through the details of a healthcare system that can be confusing, intimidating, and sometimes overwhelming. We help any potential patient identify what they want, what they need, and what their goals are for the future. Then we begin working proactively to reduce any barrier to care, whether it’s insurance, transportation, scheduling, or access to social services. Whenever and wherever we find a patient in need seeking support, we help them find that support, overcome those barriers, and change their lives for the better.
I love my work because I learn something new every day. Growing up, my mother always taught me to show compassion and kindness for others. At a young age, I learned that helping others was more gratifying than anything else. As a former Counselor with Aegis, I found my passion in helping others.
Every day, I strive to create the change my community needs by setting an example and educating people about substance abuse. People are often afraid to ask for help, or they simply don’t know how to find it, and I want to be that source of help and support for them. I believe that as a Patient Navigator, I can work with the community to assist in breaking the negative stigma associated with addiction and treatment.
