I am a CSU Bakersfield graduate who began my journey in the addiction treatment field through dual-diagnosis crisis residential programs in the East Bay. In 2016, I joined Aegis Treatment Centers to combat the opioid epidemic, providing direct services to patients. With the State Opioid Response Grant, I had the opportunity to conduct essential outreach, education, stigma reduction, and expand access to treatment services in Northern California through partnerships with numerous agencies and coalitions.
As a part of a small team, we faced unique challenges and barriers in some of California’s most rural areas. Now, I continue my harm reduction and education work in Kern County, where my passion for the SUD and mental health field first began. My goal is to build connections with patients and service providers, reduce overdose deaths, spread education and awareness, and help people get into treatment to achieve their recovery goals.
