    Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is the cornerstone of modern opioid addiction treatment. MAT uses regularly administered medication to replace abuse of opioids in the patient’s life. Once the buprenorphine (suboxone) or methadone has assisted the patient through opioid withdrawal and detox, our drug and alcohol counselors provide a healing and safe atmosphere to explore the underlying causes of addiction and forge lasting recovery.

    Georgetown Medical understands that recovery from drug addiction is just one aspect of a client’s life – many of our patients have jobs, attend school or have families – and we strive to make treatment accessible and convenient. In order to accommodate the widest variety of schedules, we offer medication as early as 5:30am Monday through Friday and 6:00am on Saturdays.

    In order to determine the most effective course of treatment, each potential client undergoes a thorough evaluation process with our dedicated staff to determine the most beneficial dosing schedule and counseling programs – individual, group and family counseling, or a combination, may be recommended. Our therapists are here to ensure progress after a client has initially stabilized. Clients may attend education classes on substance use disorders, relapse prevention, and life skills.

    In order to make opioid addiction treatment as affordable as possible, Georgetown Medical accepts many Kentucky health insurance plans, including Medicaid, Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield and a variety of out-of-network plans.
