Leading Recovery Provider Offers Affordable Care to Underserved Communities

Ocean County, NJ – March 5, 2019 – Pinnacle Treatment Centers (PTC), a leader in providing accessible treatment for adult men and women struggling with substance use disorders, has opened Ocean Monmouth Care, its 12th location in the state of New Jersey, with two more facilities set to open in the Garden State in Spring 2019.

Conveniently located in Brick Township, Ocean Monmouth Care is one of a select few treatment facilities in the area to provide underserved communities with affordable substance abuse treatment and the option of outpatient care. This model of care empowers patients to take control of their treatment as it affords them the opportunity to still maintain employment, school obligations and family commitments while getting the treatment necessary to address their recovery.

“Given the opioid epidemic throughout the state, there is a drastic need for treatment. Our company is committed to bringing care directly into the community to help solve this crisis,” said Joe Pritchard, CEO of Pinnacle Treatment Centers, who made his personal journey through recovery and is now dedicated to helping others. Pritchard recognizes the need for outpatient programs that are designed to offer support in managing stress and providing patients with relapse prevention strategies, while connecting them with community support.

“The opioid crisis is unprecedented in its scope and devastating in its intensity. Our response must be equally broad in scope and intensity,” Attorney General Gurbir Grewal stated during a press conference announcing NJ Cares, an initiative that shares overdose statistics in real time and access to a 24/7 statewide opioid response team.

According to data published by NJ Cares, the state may eclipse 3,000 drug related fatalities in 2019. The increase is almost entirely blamed on the opioid crisis.

Areas that have been hit the hardest by the opioid epidemic include Ocean and Monmouth counties. Ocean County has consistently been one of the areas of the state hardest hit by the scourge of opioid addiction and overdose fatalities. Ocean County’s prosecutor Joseph Coronato said the numbers are devastating and acknowledged the synthetic opioid fentanyl has only worsened the drug crisis.

Pinnacle’s Chief Medical Officer and Medical Director of Ocean Monmouth Care, Chris Johnston, MD, believes affordable treatment is part of the solution. “This facility in Brick allows new options in group and individual counseling and expanded space for our nurses and doctors to provide FDA-approved medications that control opioid cravings and facilitate other important recovery activities.”

Pinnacle’s latest outpatient treatment center has the capacity to serve 2,200 patients on a daily basis and offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT), medically-assisted detox, group therapy, meditation, and mindfulness programs with flexible day and evening hours.
